To put it simply, customers purchase a denominated or non-denominated gift cards at the stores. The gift cards are activated at the stores through the stores’ POS terminals. Once activated, the gift cards can be used as a means of tender for purchases of store merchandise. The gift cards are reusable and can be presented as tender multiple times, provided a positive balance is remaining on the card. Customers can replenish their cards at any time, that is, customers can purchase additional dollars to add to a card’s existing balance. Replenishments are processed through the POS terminal for any amount up to a total card value of normally $100.00.
